Bouygues UK has confirmed a £26.6m contract to complete a new boutique hotel in London’s fashionable Shoreditch area.
The new 120-room luxury hotel will include a rooftop pool, lounge complex overlooking the city, as well as six suites, 24-hour fitness facilities and more than 6,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
The man behind the project is Michael Achenbaum, creator of the Gansevoort Hotel Group which has properties in New York and Dominican Republic, and the new Shoreditch boutique will mark his first venture into the UK.
He said: “We’ve identified fantastic partners for this project and we’re excited to be bringing a new brand and eclectic energy to the area.”
Achenbaum is known for his strong lifestyle concepts and he hopes to replicate this in the capital.
Bouygues UK’s managing director for construction in London and the South East, Arnaud Bekaert, said: “We are proud to have been chosen to collaborate with Michael Achenbaum as he launches his new – and first – hotel here in the UK. I’ve no doubt this new hotel will be popular, as well as diversifying Michael’s portfolio of urban retreats for discerning guests and bringing his unique style to a unique urban area within the capital.”
The project scheduled for completion in summer 2016.
