Cliff House Hotel in Southbourne has welcomed a new chef de partie to its team, in a month of celebrations for the 14-bed boutique.
The popular hotel near Bournemouth, owned and operated by Andrew Gosling CEO of Food Show, welcomed new staff member James McConnell this month, to coincide with the hotel’s first birthday in July.
McConnell, appointed through hospitality recruitment specialists Real Recruitment Solutions, will now work under head chef Alex King, to continue to grow the food offering at the boutique.
The hotel’s significant growth in event bookings, including weddings and private functions led to the decision to expand its kitchen brigade.
Chef McConnell trained locally at a number of eateries, including the Boathouse, The Ox, The Ship and The Grand Hotel, before joining Cliff House.
General manager Tim Seward said, “We have worked with the Real Recruitment Team before to help source professional staff for our hotel. Our first year in business has exceeded our expectations, and for us it is all about having the right people in place to help us move forward.”
