Amberley Castle, part of Andrew Brownsword Hotels, has announced the appointment of Piers Vowles as its new general manager.
Vowles joins the hotel from his previous role as deputy general manager at the Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath, where he worked for four years.
He will officially take up his new position at Amberley Castle on July 6.
Vowles has been in the hospitality industry since 2003, and has worked in a variety of roles in prestigious properties including Kilworth House Hotel in Leeds, the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel in Bath, and the De Vere Grand Harbour in Southampton.
On his appointment, Vowles commented: “I am delighted to join Andrew Brownsword Hotels to take up the role of general manager at Amberley Castle – the hotel has a great team and it’s such an iconic property. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and my passion for food and beverage to the role, maintaining and building the hotel’s strong reputation for offering outstanding service, luxurious accommodation, and delicious cuisine in the heart of West Sussex.”
Amberley Castle also received an AA Notable Wine List award for the first time this month and now joins an exclusive list of UK hotels to hold the award, including sister properties Gidleigh Park and The Bath Priory.
