New general manager joins Burley Manor to spearhead pivotal year of growth

A new general manager has joined to head up Burley Manor in the New Forest as it remerges after a £1.8m refurbishment.

Alex Stiller was recruited for the Grade-II listed hotel at the tail end of last year, joining from his position with Lenape Heights Golf Resort in the US, where he had been since 2013.

Burley Manor was transformed late in 2015 with a £1.8m investment designed to reposition the property as a ‘restaurant with rooms for grown ups’.

All 40 bedrooms were given a makeover, while the Mediterranean-inspired kitchen introduced new menus to showcase local flavours and quality produce.

Burley Manor Barn was launched in April 2016, which has since seen success in the events and weddings markets.

In September 2016, two Temple Spa treatment rooms were opened, operating alongside Burley Manor’s outdoor pool set within the hotel’s 8 acres of grounds.

This year the focus is on developing a kitchen garden, with new accommodation plans soon to be announced and a host of summer pop-up events also planned.

Stiler will be responsible for driving growth at Burley Manor and inspiring the team to maintain high standards.
