Waterhead Boutique Hotel & Dining near Ambleside has announced the appointment of a new head chef to take the reins in its kitchen.
The four-star boutique townhouse in Lake Windermere, part of English Lakes Hotels Resorts and Venues, has welcomed Nick Martin into the role of head chef.
Martin brings more than 30 years experience to his new position, having also been awarded with the title of AA North West Chef of the Year in 2010.
He joins Waterhead Boutique Hotel & Dining from his role as head chef at Macdonald Hotels, where he worked across all the group’s properties in Cumbria, including the 2 AA Rosette restaurant at Leeming House in Ullswater,
During his career, Martin has worked with household names such as Jean Christophe Novelli and Keith Floyd, performing live cooking demonstrations for television and food events. He has represented the North West region for Made in Cumbria in Bologna, Italy, working with Food from Britain alongside other regions, cooking and demonstrating local produce.
“Waterhead is a great property, with a vibrant kitchen and boutique dining environment,” says Martin. “I am really looking forward to this challenging new role and becoming part of a family run business in a wonderful area.”
