New head chef to lead brigade at Laura Ashley Lakes hotel

A new head chef has been appointed the lead the kitchen brigade at Laura Ashley: The Belsfield Hotel in the Lake District.

Chris Lee, whose previous experience includes heading up an Antony Worrall Thompson kitchen, has joined the four-star hotel in Bowness-on-Windermere to head up the 1 AA rosette restaurant.

He joins at the time when the property is looking to push the standards of its food offering further in a bit to achieve accolades and grow the reputation of the dining room.

After stints at neighbouring Bowness hotel, The Ryebeck and The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield, Lee says he is ‘thrilled’ to get the opportunity to work at Laura Ashley: The Belsfield, creating locally-sourced menus for the 80-cover restaurant.

He says: “The Lake District is awesome, and I’m thrilled to have a new opportunity to create food that customers want to experience. The Belsfield is iconic and the region has so much to offer, local ingredients such as Cartmel Valley Game make cooking and working in the Lake District unrivalled.”
