A boutique hotel complete with a bar and bistro could take up home in a vacant building on Yarm High Street in Stockton, County Durham.
The ‘high quality’ 20-bedroom boutique hotel could be built on a site on the high street that was once occupied by a garage but has been derelict for years since.
The project is being spearheaded by Jake Majid of Maher Entertainments who said that an application would be submitted “imminently”.
He believes the hotel would need to be home to both a bar and a bistro to make it viable.
Local Yarm town councillor, Andrew Sherris welcomed the boutique hotel plans, saying it would be something many people in the town would be all for.
He also believes it would prove to be a great asset for the town.
Speaking to the Gazette, Jake Majid, of Maher Entertainments said: “We went to Yarm Town Council with the plans and it was received quite well. The hospitality sector is something my family are already involved in. We’re not going to spare any expense. It will be a high quality development.”
