A new global brand director has been appointed for Carlson Rezidor’s Quorvus Collection to help further demonstrate the group’s commitment to the new lifestyle brand.
Carina Svensen will lead the Quorvus Collection’s strategy, planning and activation for the brand’s current properties, which consists of just two hotels, G&V Royal Mile Hotel, Edinburgh and Symphony Style Hotel, Kuwait.
She will also support the brand’s growth ambitions, establishing the Quorvus Collection on a global level and helping to build its reputation for luxury, guest experience and local culture.
Her new role will also see her lead a full redesign at G&V Royal Mile Hotel, Edinburgh, including the addition of Scottish designer suites which were revealed in July 2015, as well as a luxury update to all rooms, a re-design of the hotel lobby and bar, all to be complete by early 2016.
Norwegian-born Svensen has been with the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group for over 20 years. In 2005, Svensen became the first female general manager at any Radisson SAS Hotel or Resort in the UK & Ireland.
Most recently, she pioneered the launch of the world’s first designer hotel and the very first Hotel Missoni in Edinburgh. The hotel quickly achieved five-star status as well as a collection of awards and accolades under Svensen’s direction.
Commenting on the appointment, Rose Anderson, vice president, branding, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group said: “The Quorvus Collection is an exciting new proposition for us and I can think of no-one better to continue to move the brand in the right direction.
Having worked with Carina for over six years, I know she continues to drive our brands forward with incredible energy, passion, ambition and expertise. Having worked her way up in the industry, she has the added knowledge of understanding all elements of a hotel’s operations. We look forward to this next exciting chapter for both Carina and Quorvus Collection.”
