Paul Callingham, managing director at Starboard Hotels, said: “Emma’s previous international experience combined with her local knowledge is sure to bring another dimension to the already dynamic HOAX brand.

“I have no doubt that Emma’s obvious passion for travel and hospitality will give her a greater understanding of our HOAX guests as well as a fresh outlook in terms of service and quality. We look forward to seeing how Emma takes HOAX to the next level.”

Originally from the Wirral, Emma studied Tourism Business Management at Birmingham University and has since travelled and worked across Europe, USA and Asia. Emma has worked with well-established hotel groups such as IHG and Centre Island Hotels.

In 2008 she was brought on board by Staybridge Suites to open its first property outside the USA in Liverpool. Most recently Emma was general manager for luxury brand Macdonald Hotels & Resorts where she managed a team of 70 in a 62 bedroom four-star hotel.

“I am very much looking forward to working with such a fun, sociable and individual brand such as HOAX and hope to maintain its position at the forefront of luxury hostelling,” said Emma.
