Swinton Park in Yorkshire has appointed Emma Franklin as the hotel’s new spa manager, which is due to open in autumn 2016.
With over 20 years experience in the spa industry, Franklin is well-equipped to take the helm at the new spa.
Her new role will see her move from treatment manager at Swinton Park, where she has been since early 2015, to manager at the Country Club & Spa.
Franklin first gained managerial experience working on one of the largest cruise ships in the world, the Explorer of the Seas. During the early ‘noughties’, she worked in Japan at the ‘Park Hyatt Tokyo’ and then moved onto the Grand Hyatt Dubai for four years as spa manager before being promoted to spa director.
In 2009, Franklin moved back to the UK to be closer to home working at ‘A Vita Medi Spa’ in Yarm starting as head therapist and then swiftly becoming Medi spa manager.
Claire Jones, general manager of Swinton Park said: “Emma’s knowledge, skills and ability will play an important role in our new Spa, we are pleased she has chosen to join our team and look forward to her taking the Spa to new levels.”
The £5.5m Swinton Park Country Club and Spa on the 20,000-acre country estate will include a swimming pool, gym and studio, alongside a full spa with pre-treatment consultation zone, six therapy rooms, a private therapy suite, a rasul treatment room, three different types of heat experiences, a wellness pool and a post treatment relaxation room.
It will also be home to a 40-cover restaurant, coffee shop and Swinton Estate shop, while the wider Country Club will offer access to activities such as cycling, fishing and clay pigeon shooting.
