Nigel Brunt looks after the sales and marketing for the Devonshire Arms in Bolton Abbey, the Devonshire Fell, Cavendish Pavilion, and more recently a collection of self-catering cottages. He joined three years prior, with heaps of luxury hospitality experience at the likes of Raithwaite Hall, Whitby and York’s first five-star hotel The Grand, and he has certainly made his mark already.
After restructuring the sales and marketing teams to maximise performance, he has increased the rates and revenue across the group, delivered a 20% revenue increase in the past year, whilst under-spending on marketing budget by 20%.
He has driven the Devonshire Hotels and Restaurants Group forward, revamping the hotels’ individual and group branding and introduced new websites, videos, marketing material and booking systems. Marketing successes have included the increase of the database from 15k to 60k and social media expansion across six platforms to 50k ‘followers.
His initiatives have included a new approach to marketing gift vouchers, which has resulted in 200% sales increase YOY.
As a Yorkshire lad, Nigel has initiated branded partnerships to increase presence, profile and profitability across the region’s properties; including Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Yorkshire Cricket Club.
Nigel’s constant striving to do things differently, ‘thinking out of the box’ to be bigger and better than the hotel’s competitors, have aided the group to win numerous awards, while his friendly personality, can-do attitude and relationships built though sporting and business contacts all help to drive his endeavours to optimum success.
