A Norfolk-based hotel has reported savings of more than £16,000 from reducing its food and packaging waste.
Strattons Hotel in Swaffham achieved a recycling rate of 98% with the support of WRAP, part of the government-funded ‘Business is GREAT Britain’ campaign which provides advice for SMEs.
The hotel’s director Vanessa Scott said: "There is a surprising amount of government help out there for small businesses and it’s well worth asking about.
"WRAP helped my business to reduce waste and recycle more, making better use of resources and helping to tackle climate change while improving our bottom line."
Minister for Skills and Enterprise Matthew Hancock added: "Small businesses are crucial to the success of our economy, which is why we are showcasing the best of British business through our Business is GREAT campaign.
"We want people in Norfolk to know about the support that the government is providing to make it easier to start and grow a small business."
