Plan submitted to transform former leisure trust home into hotel and health spa in Colne

Pendle Leisure trust

A new plan has been submitted to Pendle Council to transform the former home of the local leisure trust into a new boutique hotel and health spa for Colne.

The proposal, if given the go ahead, would see Bank House in Albert Road change use from an office to a health and beauty spa and a new building created to be home to bedrooms.

Dr Zia Ud-din is behind the plans, which would create eight full-time jobs and bid to bring back to life a building that has been vacant for almost three years.

The application includes plans to demolish an existing extension and out building and replace it with a three storey extension including four spa accommodation units and a three bedroom dwelling.

The application also states that the historical significance of the building will be retained and the area preserved and enhanced as part of the project.

The site would be home to a ‘high end health and beauty spa’, offering hammam, swimming pool, hairdressing salon and nail bar, plus more specific services such as a laser clinic, skin rejuvenation clinic and cosmetic dentistry services.
