The owners of Alexander House Hotel and Utopia Spa in Sussex have revealed plans to launch around 20 additional suites at the property in late summer 2014.
Alexander Hotels founders Peter and Deborah Hinchcliffe said the extension, which will bring the room count up from 38 to 58 rooms, was in response to growing demand.
“The rooms we’re adding on are all going to be luxury suites because there’s a high demand — particularly now we’re among the top five-star hotels — for larger and better-equipped rooms. So that’s what we’re tackling next,” Peter Hinchcliffe, who was one of the founding members of food-store chain Iceland, told Boutique Hotelier.
The property — which the couple acquired and first extended in 2006, more than doubling the number of rooms from 15 and adding a spa — was awarded five stars by The AA this year and has three rosettes for its restaurant.
