Poor service voted as biggest turn off in UK restaurants

Bad service was voted as the ‘top restaurant turn off’ in a survey of 2000 diners conducted by appliances supplier Miele Professional. 

Nearly 80% of those polled said this was their biggest pet hate, followed by uncleanliness:

The top five turn offs were: 
1. Bad/unfriendly service (79%)
2. Unclean bathrooms (66%)
3. Dirty cutlery or crockery (65%)
4. Stains on the table cloth or table (55%)
5. Dirty glass ware (52%)

Miele Professional sales and marketing director Les Marshall said: “Nobody wants to feel that they’re eating or drinking in a restaurant, bar or bistro that doesn’t have the highest standards of cleanliness and the results of our recent survey prove that".
