Adam Rowledge is a real one-to-watch in the hotel industry. Currently sprinkling his magic as general manager at the four-star Georgian House Hotel in London, he has his hands full with the hotel’s ongoing kitchen and restaurant refurbishment, promoting the boutique in one of the most competitive areas of the UK, as well as managing the constant flow of bookings coming in for Georgian House Hotel’s special Harry Potter themed bedrooms.
Taking on his first general manager role at Bannatyne Spa Hotel Hastings before the age of 30, Adam brings a breath of fresh air to the sector, something which was recognised in 2012 when he was presented with a well-deserved Acorn Award.
His experience in senior management positions at various top hotels across the UK – Nutfield Priory Hotel and South Lodge to name a few – stood him in good stead to take over as GM at Bannatyne Hotel Hastings in March 2015. He moved to Georgian House Hotel just seven months’ ago but has already made a strong impression, through his passion for delivering an outstanding guest experience and persistence for consistently high standards. Never afraid to get stuck in, he approaches tasks with a ‘hands on’ attitude and is keen to make sure colleagues are supported to reach their full potential within the industry.
Owner of Georgian House Hotel, Serena von der Heyde, said: “I think that Adam is an inspiration to young people coming into the industry. He is young, and full of the dynamism and enthusiasm that comes with youth, yet he shows the measured thoughtfulness of someone much older. He really cares about fairness, opportunity and integrity and that inspires people around him.”
Already in his career, Adam has achieved so much. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality, St Julian Scholar, as well as a member of the AICR (Amicale Internationale des Chefs de Reception et Sous Directeurs des Grand Hotels)
