British hotelier Sir Rocco Forte saw profits at his international hotel group more than treble during the last financial year.
The company, named Rocco Forte & Family, saw turnover rise 4% to £193m for the year to April 30, while pre-tax profits jumped from £2.9m to £10.4m, due in part to the sale of an investment property in London.
Rocco Forte Hotels is a brand within the Rocco Forte & Family name and the London-based company, owned by Sir Rocco Forte, owns and part-owns 11 hotels in the UK and Europe, including The Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh and Brown’s Hotel in London.
Forte said that trading has taken off last year due to the improvement in the global economy and strong demand from the leisure sector.
He recently said that he is aiming to double his company in the next five years.
