The Queens Hotel has been closed this week to undergo a complete refurbishment, after Lake District Hotels group purchased the hotel back in April.
Every part of the hotel is being given a makeover, including all 34 bedrooms, corridors, lounges, bar, reception, restaurant, kitchen, and service areas as well as new heating/water system throughout with new boilers, electric supplies, gas, and new lift.
The director Kit Graves and marketing director Dani Hope have been steering the design and look of the interiors with the help of Frank Whittle Partnership, who assisted with the resdesign of the other 6 hotels in the Lake District Hotels group.
Phase 1 of the project began in September, with 14 of the bedrooms being closed in the back wing of the hotel. The first floor of bedrooms was completely demolished and is now being rebuilt on the other side of the building, with one less bedroom to give the new rooms more space.
Phase 2 of the project has now began, which will see the remaining 21 bedrooms at the front of the hotel being renovated as well as the entire ground floor of the hotel.
The new-look Queens Hotel is scheduled to reopen for Easter weekend 2015.
