Ramside Hall Hotel near Durham is gearing up to open its doors to a luxury spa in August, which is bidding to be one of the best in the country.
The Spa at Ramside will consist of five pools, and a thermal suite offering a range of facilities and a specialist Sleep Sanctuary retreat.
The new addition is part of a £16m overhaul of Ramside Hall which will officially be completed when the spa opens in a month’s time. The Spa at Ramside marks the final stage of the extensive refurbishment.
The thermal suite includes an herbal sauna, Himalayan salt steam, aroma steam, Tepidarium and a sunken amphitheatre sauna, with the spa also home to a gym which will offer a programme of more than 40 classes every week.
The darkened Sleep Sanctuary retreat will offer guests access to soundwave therapy beds and sleep pods.
The new spa will be home to 14 treatment rooms which can be booked as part of a day package or coupled with a stay at the hotel. The spa will also include a Rasul mud chamber and a beauty snug, as well as its own hairdressing salon and an Asian Fusion restaurant.
“This is going to be one of the most exciting spa developments in the UK for some time,” said Jill Russell, spa director.
“We’ve created somewhere really special, which will literally have something for everyone.”
