As any boutique hotelier knows, the prospect of running out of hot water at peak times hardly bears thinking about.
However, water heater expert Rinnai has developed its range of water heaters to ensure this nightmare scenario never happens.
The comprehensive Rinnai Infinity range of gas fired continuous flow water heaters offers boutique hoteliers a system that guarantees a constant flow of safe hot water at precisely the chosen temperature.
The system can be operated via BMS or from intelligent internal controls.
The water heater provides near mains pressure flow for as long as is necessary, without the need for thermostatic mixer valves.
Water temperatures are controlled via smart internal controls or BMS delivering peace of mind. So, for example, if somebody is showering at, say 42°C, and other guests also decide to shower at the same time elsewhere, the temperature will not vary.
As a failsafe, the unit will automatically cut the heater should the temperature rise by 3°C above the chosen set point eliminating the risk of scalding or discomfort.
The Infinity Plus solution for large hotels has been developed to provide never-ending hot water without costly storage and brings together multiple units of the company’s award-winning condensing continuous flow water heaters into single, easily manoeuvrable modules.
For many hoteliers this solution is the best of all possible options; storage systems, by virtue of their design are unable to cope with modern hot water demand, as the recovery times are often longer than the period of use.
One installer, Sonia Hewitt of A C Fraser and Sons heating engineers, from Killin in the Scottish Highlands, who numbers many hotels and B&Bs among her clients, says: “Rinnai infinity water heaters are just amazing with outstanding performance for their size and cost.
“On top of that their safety features are impressive plus they are so easy to install – just one pipe in and one pipe out.
"Comparable products from Rinnai’s competitors need three people to lift them.
“The service from Rinnai is excellent too. We get next day delivery from them even here in the remote Highlands.
"It means we can offer a much faster service to hotels, which, as commercial businesses, need replacements directly.”
Hewitt has installed two Rinnai Infinity HDC1200i condensing units into the 20-bed Bridge of Orchy Hotel which sits in a prominent roadside location close to the West Highland Way and Glencoe.
The region has the best climbing, walking and skiing in Scotland, so the hotel is full most of the time.
“I put in two of the biggest units because I knew demand for hot water at peak times would be huge and they are coping fine with it.”
Rinnai’s Infinity range of continuous flow gas fired water heaters includes heavy duty and condensing units that are engineered specifically to guarantee the highest efficiencies and therefore the lowest running costs of any commercial water heater, says the company.
