Rocco Forte takes Lowry off market after six years

A six-year search for a buyer for Salford’s Lowry Hotel has ended with operator Rocco Forte Hotels taking the property off the market.

The £50m sale process was announced in 2007 but no bids have been accepted by the owner.

A Rocco Forte Hotels spokesperson told Manchester Evening News it is no longer looking for a new owner for the five-star venue.

The 165-key hotel, which stands on a site previously used for warehousing and employs 240 staff, has hosted a string of celebrities including Beyonce and Robbie Williams.
