Royal Mile boutique hotel invests in luxury redesign

G&V Royal Mile Hotel in Edinburgh has announced plans for a complete redesign of its interiors, including its bedrooms and bar and lobby areas.

Just six years after opening, the five-star hotel, which is part of Carlson Rezidor’s the Quorvus Collection, will now invest in its luxury redesign, enhancing all its 136 bedrooms and public spaces, before unveiling the whole hotel by the end of the year.

The hotel is continuing to support local talent and is calling on the help of a number of leading Scottish designers to help complete the new look, including fashion designer Judy R Clark, artist Christine Clark, design duo Timorous Beasties, artist and textile designer Hatti Pattisson, local bespoke furniture designer, Holster, and leading interior designer, Graven.

Each designer will bring their own flair to the suites, while the main theme will evoke modern Scotland and draw on local talent, textiles, charm and character.

The programme of design work will be finished in stages to avoid minimal impact on guests, with a number of rooms ready in summer 2015 and the full redesign scheduled to be complete by the end of the year.

Carina Svensen, hotel manager at G&V Royal Mile Hotel explains; “Our hotel has always been distinctive and modern design still absolutely remains at our core. This is a natural evolution for us and we’re truly excited to be able to transform some of our rooms to reflect luxury living and inject a little local character into the interiors. The new design will reflect a celebration of modern Scotland, drawing on the incredible resources and talent we have on our doorstep here in Edinburgh.”
