Schrager opens third EDITION with Marriott in Miami

Eyes turn towards Miami with the opening of the Miami Beach EDITION, described as a spectacular next-generation urban resort by Ian Schrager in partnership with Marriott International.

The city gains a unique oceanfront complex designed up to the minute recreation, socialising, networking, and business.

The Miami EDITION is a new urban resort hotel located in the mid-Beach area of Miami Beach  on three and a half acres of private beachfront property.

The project represents a careful renovation of the historic Seville Hotel, built in 1955, which was for many years a global playground for the rich and famous, and was regarded as one of the most prestigious hotels in the Mid-Beach area.

The Miami Beach EDITION comprises 294 individually designed guest rooms and suites, including 28 private bungalows—some with two stories—and a spectacular rooftop penthouse, together with an unusually wide array of public spaces, dining and drinking places, landscape and resort features, event rooms, entertainment hub, and other amenities.

Ian Schrager’s last Miami hotel, the Delano, opened in 1992 and changed everything, he says. “Up till then there hadn’t been a new hotel built in Miami Beach in almost 40 years.”
