A popular hotel in the centre of Pitlochry, Scotland has been sold to new owners after more than 14 years in the same family.
Westlands Hotel is a well-known hotel situated in a top tourism destination close to the Highlands and has been sold by Robert and Johan Cowan, who decided to move on and retire after 14 years at the helm.
The hotel comprises 15 bedrooms, a lounge bar – which was a hit with both guests and locals – plus an 80-cover restaurant.
While the identity of the private buyer has not been revealed, Ken Sims, director of Christie + Co who marketed the sale, said there was a significant amount of interest in the hotel, with a number of offers being received.
He commented: “Well-run businesses like the Westlands continue to attract interest from not just the UK but also overseas as both private individuals and investors look for businesses which offer an attractive return.
“Good commercial hotels remain attractive as they offer buyers a varied income stream incorporating accommodation and food and beverage sales.”
