Luxury Durham boutique, Seaham Hall, has recreated its own beach to provide its corporate guests with a quirky break out space to use between meetings.

Created on the five-star hotel’s terrace, Byron’s Beach provides guests with deck chairs in front of beach huts, panama hats and branded sun glasses, and serves ice creams throughout the day.

There is also a volleyball court for guests wanting some proper head space away from the business of the day.

The new space has been created to complement the hotel’s 1,000 sq ft of corporate even space, including The Vortex, a new multi-use zone to inspire creative thinking.

Accommodating up to 40 guests, it can be transformed from a more typical meeting room to an unusual and inspirational space with bean bags, games and puzzles, and the latest technical equipment.

Seaham Hall has gone from strength to strength since its purchase from Von Essen in 2013, rolling out a £3m refurbishment programme and regaining its five-star status in March 2014 as a result.
