The Exchange Hotel in Cardiff has recently opened its new bar and cocktail lounge, and is now calling for members of the public to help name the new addition.
The property, on Mount Stuart Square, is owned by Signature Living who purchased the former Coal Exchange, which dates back to 1883, in 2016.
The group then set about transforming the property into a new luxury hotel, spa and events venue with an investment of £40m. The first 40 bedrooms opened in May to mark the completion of the first phase of development, with a further 160 bedrooms to open before the end of the year.
Now with the venue’s new bar and cocktail lounge having opened its doors, Signature Living is calling for the people of Wales to have their say and come up with a new with that reflect the addition’s local history.
The bar sits next to R.P.Culley’s restaurant, which is named after Richard Palethorpe Culley – an innkeeper’s son who went on to cater for Welsh coal millionaires at the Coal Exchange.
The person with the winning idea will receive a free sampling session of the bar’s extensive cocktail menu, followed by dinner for two.
To enter, the hotel is asking the public to visit its Facebook page and leave the suggestion in the comments section, before the closing date of July 29.
