A growing hotel and restaurant is embarking on a six-figure refurbishment and expansion plan that will see the addition of new bedrooms.
The Crown Lodge Hotel at Outwell, which incorporates The Moorings Restaurant, has so far completed the refurbishment of four of its ten rooms and will now work on developing a further eight rooms.
Until three years ago, the village’s Crown Service Station was part of the hotel site and now it is to be completely reworked to house the new bedrooms.
The property started life as a garage and cafe and is now bidding to build on its successful food reputation in the area.
The new bedrooms will boast a more contemporary feel and will complement the redevelopment of the rest of the business that took place in 2005, which saw a significant investment in new kitchens, a bar, restaurant and function rooms.
Managing director Tim Gibb said: “The whole redevelopment should take about 10 months, and then we’ll be looking for a range of staff including housekeeping, kitchen and front of house – across the board.”
