Small Luxury Hotels of the World celebrates 25 years


Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) is gearing up to celebrate 25 years in business in 2015, with new hotel openings and the launch of the new arm to the company, Private Residences by SLH.

The hotel consortium, which currently has a portfolio of more than 520 members worldwide, enjoyed a record breaking year in 2014 and hopes to expand on this success within the next 12 months.

SLH will also bring back its hotel directory, which will highlight all its hotels around the globe.

Paul Kerr, CEO for SLH said: “2014 was a great year for us. Our revenue reached just shy of $150 million dollars, representing a year-on-year increase of 11%, with room nights up sever percent. The most significant development that we experienced this year was the rise in the number of visitors and bookings via mobile and tablet devices. We had over 4.15 million visitors to our site in 2014 and saw a 71% rise in visitors using mobile and a 64% rise in mobile bookings, while reservations through tablets were up 14% year on year. Looking ahead, we expect 2015 to be a very strong year.”

In 2014, The Club of SLH increased by 49,000 new members, taking the total membership to up over 370,000 members.

SLH also grew in terms of hotels and destinations with the portfolio growing by 56 hotels in 2014. 33 new properties joined in Europe, the Middle East and Africa region, 16 in the Asia Pacific region and seven in the Americas.
