New luxury venue, Soughton Hall Hotel, has recruited a new general manager to help the property hit its ambitious year-end weddings’ target.
Daniel Perks has joined the luxury hotel in Flintshire from his role as deputy manager at Northop Hall Country House Hotel for the past two years.
Now he will concentrate on driving more weddings business to the new luxury venue, with the hotel was on course to hit its target of tripling the number of weddings hosted at the grand hall in a year, from 30 to 100, by the end of 2018.
The 14-bedroom Grade-II listed Soughton Hall Hotel has been transformed since it was acquired by Manchester-based family firm Elle R Leisure over a year ago and now is being positioned as a luxury venue targeted towards the weddings and events market.
Perks, who now lives in at Soughton Hall Hotel with his wife Cheryl, has worked for a number of leading international and UK-based hotel chains, including managerial roles at the Leasowe Castle Hotel on the Wirral, The Park Hotel in Aintree and its partner in the city centre The Sir Thomas Hotel.
Speaking on his new role, he says it’s a ‘dream job’ and working for an independent hotel he finds he is able to put his ‘own stamp on the job you are doing’.
“You can develop and implement your own ideas, in partnership with the owners of course, which gives great job satisfaction,” he says. “That’s why the role at Soughton Hall is such a great fit for me.”
Elle R Leisure, the family firm which now owns Soughton Hall, is well-known for the successful Dukes 92 and Albert’s restaurants in Manchester.
The company also owns a luxury boutique hotel called Woodlands in Leeds which specialises in weddings.
