Specialist manufacturer acquired by Elstead Lighting

Elstead Lighting has completed the purchase of the small specialist/custom lampshade manufacturer and lighting supplier, Crimway.

Crimway, which is based in Whittlesbury, provides a diverse selection of hand-made shades to the hospitality and interior design sector, as well as a range of table lamps and fittings.

Jonathan Lucas, managing director of Elstead, commented: “At this early stage, the business will continue in its own right making and shipping product from its base in Northamptonshire. There will be then several months of transition as we work through how best to implement and integrate the ranges into the Elstead main operation.

“It will certainly be a very carefully managed transition, as Crimway is a small business and could not manage the full breadth of Elstead’s client base being introduced and offer their products and services at this stage.”

An additional shade making facility is planned to be set up in Alton this autumn to enable Elstead to upscale the production quantity to supply its full customer base later this year.
