AA Hotel Services introduced the star rating scheme in 1912 to recognise and reward establishments for their quality and range of services and facilities. The standards are shared with the three national tourist boards to ensure consistency of quality and service throughout the UK.

Peter Holgate, general manager said: “Being awarded AA four star status is a fantastic achievement for both the hotel and team. With our ongoing investment and exceptional standards of customer service, this demonstrates that the hotel is consistently delivering outstanding customer experiences in this wonderful coastal location. It has been a huge effort and I am immensely proud of each and every member of my team”

Mike Warren, managing director for Harbour Hotels, said: “This is a significant achievement for our St Ives Harbour Hotel & Spa and its team. We are extremely proud to have been acknowledged with a fourth AA star, as we continue to invest in our unique coastal property. This reflects the Harbour Hotels’ ambition to achieve four-star status across the full group of hotels.”
