Starwood to open two new hotels in London?s Docklands

Starwood – which operates a number of branded properties including W and The Turnberry – A Luxury Collection Hotel in Scotland will open two new hotels in Tobacco Dock, Docklands in 2017.

The first, an Aloft, will have 251 rooms. The other will become the UK’s first Element, an environmentally-inspired hotel which has already been rolled out in the US.

Element will offer 77 studio rooms as well as fitness facilities and electric car charging points.

All the Element properties have been awarded LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification in the US and the London property is expected to seek the British equivalent which could make it one of the most sustainable hotel buildings in Britain.
