Superdry mastermind snaps up third boutique Cotswolds pub

Julian Dunkerton, the man behind successful high street store Superdry, has bought his third Cotswolds pub.

Dunkerton Properties has bought the Wild Duck at Ewen, near Cirencester and it will join properties such as 131 The Promenade in Cheltenham and The Wheatsheaf at Northleach to trade as part of The Lucky Onion group.

Other boutique pubs in portfolio include The Chequers at Churchill and No 38 The Park in Cheltenham (formerly Hotel on the Park).

The Wild Duck website advises customers that under its new management the business will re-open to guests on November 6, with food service resuming on December 3 following a refurbishment in the kitchen.

The bedrooms will be shut until further notice while the new owners refurbish the bedrooms.

Peter Brunt from Colliers International said: “The Wild Duck is a top drawer Cotswolds’ classic, with all the trimmings and Royal credentials to boot. I am looking forward to seeing what Dunkerton Properties bring to this well-established business.”
