The latest innovation from Julius Meinl, the Viennese coffee roaster, has been designed to blend an artisanal experience with smart technology and will launch at the Lanesborough Hotel in December.
1862 Premium New, which is the next generation of the existing 1862, has been built using new technology and comes with a fresh design.
Leveraging the latest coffee preparation technologies, the concept has been crafted in partnership with industry experts.
The machine features an inbuilt automatic tamper developed by Puqpress, a premium Espresso machine by Cimbali and a grinder with portafilter recognition by Mahlkönig.
Speaking ahead of the launch, head of innovation Christina Meinl, says: “With consumers growing more discerning about their coffee, the HoReCa industry is on a quest for perfection.
“Turning to tech is the natural step, but removing human hands entirely from the equation and delegating these tasks to a machine would diminish the experience.
“We’ve worked with world-leading industry experts to find a balance between craftsmanship and technique, and the consistency that smart technology can provide. This is the future of coffee service” she concludes.
