Swinton Estate in North Yorkshire, one of England’s largest privately owned estates, is nearing the completion of an £8m investment into a new country club and spa.
The new ‘destination’ spa will open in June and is the vision of owners of Mark and Felicity Cunliffe-Lister.
The new country club and spa is located adjacent to Swinton Park, the 32-bedroom hotel and cookery school, sitting in the 20,000 acre estate as part of the site.
The spa will be home to nine treatment rooms, an 18-metre pool, plus a hydrotherapy pool, a steam room and a sauna, while outside there will be a secluded spa garden with a herbal sauna and shower, and hot tub and swimming pool.
There will also be a beauty cottage, in one of the estate’s original buildings, and a gym, combining machines with functional fitness, and a group exercise studio.
Next to the spa, The Terrace restaurant is headed up by Swinton’s executive chef Simon Crannage, who has devised a special menu for spa guests to link their nutritional wellness with their treatment.
