Tavistock Hospitality has put its Roker Lodge property in the North East up for sale as it’s looks to ‘dispose’ of the asset.
The hotel, which is home to 12 bedrooms and overlooks the north east coastline in Sunderland, sits adjacent to The Roker Hotel and is on the market for £475k for the freehold.
Guests to the Lodge have full use of the facilities at The Roker Hotel, the flagship site for Tavistock Hospitality, and is often used as an overspill for this property.
Alongside the 12 bedrooms, 10 of which have sea views, there is also a one bedroom apartment at basement level, and a one bedroom owner’s accommodation to the rear of the property.
David Cash, business agent at Christie & Co who is handling the sale comments; “Roker Lodge has provided overspill accommodation for Tavistock’s neighbouring flagship site, The Roker Hotel. However, following the refurbishment and rebranding of the main hotel, the Lodge is now surplus to requirement and Tavistock Hospitality is looking to dispose of the asset.
“In the hands of an owner-operator Roker Lodge has the potential to be a successful lifestyle business. Its close proximity to the beach and the sea views mean that it could also lend itself to residential conversion, subject to the necessary consents being obtained – a great opportunity for a developer.”
