‘Gangsters and Molls’ has been revealed as this year’s key Christmas party trend, hot off the heels of the last series of hit HBO drama ‘Boardwalk Empire’.

QHotels analysed booking trends across its 27 four-star sites for the upcoming festive season to discover what is in store for those attending Christmas parties this year.

Top of the list of themes is Gangsters and Molls, while Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ is expected to be the song that gets people up on the dance floor this December.

More party-goers are also being treated to all-inclusive drinks packages as businesses loosen the purse strings compared to previous years.

Claire Rowland, director of marketing at QHotels, says: “TV and films have always influenced party trends. Last year, we saw a lot of requests for ‘Great Gatsby’-inspired events following the release of the film and this year Gangster and Moll themed parties have been really popular, influenced by the likes of ‘Boardwalk Empire’.

“We’ve noticed a lot of interest in all our theme nights as businesses look to provide their employees with more than the traditional Christmas party. All inclusive drinks packages are also proving really popular.”

“Our dedicated events team are on-hand to deal with any Christmas party requests businesses have and guests are guaranteed a great time at our facilities, which earned us the accolade of AA Hotel Group of the Year and recently led to us being named a ‘Which? Recommended Provider’ for the second year running.”

QHotels has reported an overall increase in Christmas parties across the majority of their venues, with a total rise of almost 6,000 covers as of the beginning of September.
