The Chestnut Group has announced that its latest new offering is due to open in Bury St Edmunds on November 24, and will be a stylish new ‘house’ concept for the area.
The Suffolk-based group, which owns and manages a growing portfolio of properties including the renowned Packhorse Inn near Newmarket, will open The Northgate, an ‘informal, relaxed space to eat, drink and stay’ at the end of the month.
The Northgate’s ‘house’ concept is a first for East Anglia and the launch follows an extensive renovation of a classic grand Victorian building. It will be open all day, throughout the week, and includes a dining area, bar, heated terrace and parking.
The property will be home to 10 bedrooms, and a menu that will change throughout the day, which will be available to both residents and non-residents.
The Chef’s Table in the kitchen will also offer an eight-course tasting menu.
Speaking ahead of the opening, Philip Turner, founder and CEO of The Chestnut Group, said: “The concept of The Northgate ‘House’ is about creating an informal and relaxed space.
“The creative verve of our interior design team, the culinary flair of our kitchen team and the friendly, expert service from our front of house team, promise to delight our guests.
“It’s been a phenomenal effort by The Chestnut Group team to create The Northgate and we look forward to welcoming everyone into our ‘house’ in a few weeks’ time.”
