A hip new bar has now opened in the Lake District, owned and created by Stephen Hargreaves, the brainchild behind the hugely successful boutique brand, The Cranleigh in Bowness-on-Windermere.

Trendy new ‘city bar’, The Fizzy Tarte is a French-style patisserie serving upmarket coffee by day and by night the new luxury establishment specialises in champagne and cocktails.

Now following a successful first weekend, Hargreaves is expecting a bumper season.

“We couldn’t be more delighted with our first few days of opening and the feedback we have received from visitors, local residents and businesses has been superb,” says Hargreaves. “Our objective right from the outset was to create an upmarket ‘city bar’ that appears to have been ‘lifted’ up from London and placed on the shores of Lake Windermere; and we’ve achieved that!”

Hargreaves, who is CEO of the Cranleigh Boutique Hotel and the Boutique Church Suites, together with managing director Kay Harrison-Mann and digital director, Graham Hadaway, aimed to offer a completely new experience for the Lakes and attract a high-end clientele with the launch of The Fizzy Tarte.

They also hope that the bar, which has a capacity of 95, will be a huge boost to the local economy.

Looking ahead, Hargreaves already has plans to expand The Fizzy Tarté later this year, with a high-tech boutique bar and restaurant, where visitors will be able to select their own environment in terms of lighting, music and media.

The Cranleigh Boutique in Bowness-on-Windermere was founded in 2007 by Hargreaves and in 2013, exclusive boutique house –The Hideout – was launched. The Church Suites opened in January 2015.
