The Fish, the newest boutique hotel on the Farncombe Estate, officially opened its doors on June 1st as scheduled.
The 47-bedroom hotel is located on the privately-owned 400-acre estate in the Cotswolds and joins the award-winning Dormy House and private house hotel Foxhill Manor as part of the Farncombe offering.
The Fish is part of an extensive redevelopment at the estate and marks the first of its kind for the hotel collection.
The hotel is spread throughout three refurbished buildings, The Farmhouse, The Outhouse and The Stables, with each one designed by interior expert Hannah Lohan.
The contemporary rustic look of the new boutique hotel comes complete with Scandi-chic touches, in homage to the estate’s owners.
Across the courtyard from the hotel is The Lodge, the offering’s restaurant with bar area headed up by experienced chef Mark Coleman. The menu is focused on British seasonal dishes and using local Cotswolds produce served in a gastro-style buffet.
There is also an all-day dining menu offering bar meals, afternoon and local wines and craft beers.
Room service is delivered in traditional tiffin tins and includes hearty curry and stew dishes.
The ‘village’ is also home to extensive facilities for meetings and retreats for up to 120 delegates.
Andrew Grahame, CEO Farncombe Estate says: “The opening of The Fish is another significant milestone for Farncombe as it brings together both a new type of accommodation and the wide range of activities we offer on the estate. This very exciting addition will not only enable us to reach more leisure and corporate guests, but also serves to demonstrate that price doesn’t have to mean compromising on style and service.”
