The Doyle Collection has teamed up with The National Youth Theatre to launch ‘Afternoon tea and storytelling for the little ones’ at The Kensington Hotel, London.

The first event will be held at the hotel on Thursday November 28 from 4pm-5.30pm, costing £20 per ticket for adults and children.

"Mr and Mrs Doyle" will visit the hotel with their "magical storytelling chair" to read and perform children’s classics with a twist.

The first story told will be The Princess and the Pea, with a different children’s favourite told each month by the storytellers.

Inspired by children’s classics, the event’s menu includes a selection of triangle sandwiches with fillings such as ‘heavenly honey roast ham and mustard’, ‘extremely eggy mayonnaise and cress’ and ‘super sweet strawberry jam’.

‘Ludicrously-lovely vanilla fairy cakes’, ‘tremendously-terrific fruity marshmallows’, ‘choccy-chip chocolate brownie fingers’ and ‘generously-iced Gingerbread men’ will also be served, alongside traditional homemade fruit scones with jam and clotted cream.

‘Grown ups’ may enjoy their own version of afternoon tea, served in the drawing room of the Kensington Hotel.

The hotel will also give each child an "old-fashioned lucky bag" filled with goodies to take home.
