A new study has outlined the top hotel choices for multi-millionaires both in the UK and abroad, with The Ritz coming out as the number one choice for the super rich travelling to our shores.
The results from New World Wealth highlighted the hotels around the world which best attracted multi-millionaires, who were defined as having net assets of at least US$10m, around £6m. The study was based on data collected from 20,000 global multi-millionaires and tracked hotel stays in the year from June 2013 to June 2014.
While Las Vegas hotels dominated the list, with The Bellagio taking the top spot, establishments in the UK fared well, with The Ritz coming in seventh globally and number one in the country with 2,600 millionaire visitors in the last 12 months.
Other luxury hotels in the UK favoured by the super rich included The Mandarin Oriental in Knightsbridge and Claridge’s in Mayfair, both coming in the top five on the UK list.
The study showed that unsurprisingly the bulk of multi-millionaires head to London when visiting the UK, but also like to frequent cities such as Edinburgh, Bath, Oxford and Cambridge.
The Ritz has long been a beacon of opulence in the capital since it opened in 1906, and offers seven styles of suites, decorated in the lavish design of Louis XVI, with the signature Prince of Wales suite priced at £10,200 per night.
