A new luxury hotel with a twist has opened in Liverpool, with many of its rooms boasting tributes to some of the film greats from The Wizard of Oz to Mary Poppins.
The Arthouse Hotel has now opened its doors after being converted from an old NHS office building by developers Signature Living.
The group has given the building a complete refurbishment, installing 27 bedrooms in the brand’s ‘group room’ style, with up to six beds in each.
While the apartments all feature whirlpool baths, in-room bars and supersize TV screens, the selection of movie-themed rooms are the real showstoppers.
The bedrooms include tributes to blockbusters such as Grease, The Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins, Chicago and Phantom of the Opera.
There’s also a room dedicated to Marilyn Monroe.
Meanwhile the hotel’s new reception area features a Yellow Brick Road and pictures of Judy Garland as her famous Wizard of Oz character, Dorothy Gale.
Signature Living co-founder Katie Kenwright said the new hotel would further add to Liverpool’s tourism offer. She said: “Located just off the bustling Bold Street area, Arthouse further adds to Liverpool’s thriving tourism offer. The hotel is already generating interest from tourists from other cities. We’re really pleased with it.”
