The White Swan in Alnwick, a hotel of the Classic Lodges chain, has appointed Louise Swordy as food and beverage manager.
Swordy has worked at the hotel since she started five years ago as a waitress aged 17 and has worked her way up via a supervisor role to now take a managerial position after in-house training.
Her new position has given her more responsibility within the business and the general overseeing of the food and beverages service at Hardy’s Bistro, the more casual dining offering adjacent to The White Swan.
Swordy is keen to strengthen staff morale: “My aim is to maintain the smooth running of the restaurant, which I believe can be achieved through encouraging a positive working atmosphere with motivational targets.”
General manager for The White Swan, James Thompson, says: “We are very happy to have Louise in her new managerial position, she has excelled in her training and is proving to be a fantastic asset to the company.”
