The Wood Norton in Worcestershire is bidding to be crowned top of its class, after being nominated for Hotel of the Year in the Midlands region in the 2017 Hospitality Awards.
The hotel, which comes three months after it was awarded its second AA Rosette for dining, is one of seven finalists from the area shortlisted for the accolade after being voted in by the general public.
General manager of The Wood Norton, Steve Sweeny, said: “Since The Wood Norton opened in late 2012 we have worked extremely hard to create a luxurious and comfortable experience for all our guests – whether tourists to the area, local residents using the bar and restaurant facilities, or corporate and wedding guests.
“I am extremely delighted that this hard work has paid off and The Wood Norton has been shortlisted as just one of seven finalists in the Midlands category – particularly when you consider how many hotels there are across the region.”
The Wood Norton will now go on to battle it out in The Hospitality Awards ceremony, which held at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel on February 6.
The Wood Norton officially re-opened in late 2012 following an extensive £10m refurbishment programme, and is home to 50 bedrooms, including five suites, a restaurant bar and meeting facilities.
