A hotel in Wirral has produced its own distinctive blend of gin. Known as Torintone Gin, the new tipple takes its name from a reference in the Domesday Book, and will be exclusively available at Thornton Hall Hotel and Spa in Thornton Hough. The drink is distilled in nearby Spital using local water and a blend of botanicals including juniper, coriander, caraway, lemon, cubeb and elderflower.
“Gin has become one of the most requested drinks among visitors to the hotel,” says Geoff Dale, general manager. “In recent years, we have seen a whole new generation of gin drinkers, who are much more focused on flavour and taste. We have been interested in creating our own signature version for some time, so to finally savour our first batch is absolutely delightful. I am sure it will be a real hit with discerning gin lovers.”
Torintone will be available at the picturesque hotel, which is located between Liverpool and Chester. It will also be sold online.
