A leading interior designer has announced he is to add a new property to his successful collection of ‘home-tels’, a group of exclusive-use luxury properties that have found popularity in the hospitality market.

Shaun Clarkson will open The House in Hastings in August, which will add to Carrington House, Cliff Barns and Powers Cottage in the designer’s portfolio.

The House in Hastings can sleep up to 10 guests with five bedrooms and four bathrooms and the Grade-II listed property has undergone a significant refurbishment to bring it up to Clarkson’s standards, with green and blue shades adorning the walls and decorated with an eclectic mix of furniture, furnishings and modern artwork.

The new ‘home-tel’ taps into the trend for more luxury exclusive-use properties and guests will also have on hand a management team to help with booking a number of activities available in the local area.

The property is split over three-floors, with the top two floors home to bedrooms and the ground floor made up of a kitchen, scullery and dining room that can seat up to 12 people.

Shaun Clarkson says: “Following on from the success of Carrington House, Cliff Barns and Powers Cottage, I am incredibly excited to add The House at Hastings to our collection of home-tels. Hastings is experiencing a revival and gaining an enviable reputation as a centre for cultural creativity with so many visual and performing artists making their homes here. Add to this a new theatre, a host of bars and restaurants and historical venues and you have a fantastic holiday destination.”
