Carlton Lodge, an award-winning guesthouse located in Helmsley North York Moors National Park is now looking for a new owner.
The 8-bedroom Yorkshire bed and breakfast takes its home in a stone built property and has gone on the market with Christie + Co as current owners Mr and Mrs Parkin are looking to retire.
The building retains many of its original features, including the staircase banisters which were sourced and made by the timber merchant who originally owned the building.
The 8 guest rooms complement the breakfasting room that currently serves traditional Yorkshire breakfasts, plus a lounge and adjoining owner’s accommodation.
Mr and Mrs Parkin have owned the property since 1989 and commented: “Living in a National Park is a huge privilege; glorious countryside, abundant wildlife and a very safe community bind well with this lifestyle business which has been a real joy to own for over 25 years. We chose Helmsley as the place to raise our family and work and it has been and continues to be a very rewarding and immensely fulfilling choice.”
Oliver Brown of Christie + Co’s Leeds office is handling the sale. He says: "This is a genuine retirement sale which offers a prospective purchaser an exciting business opportunity in an idyllic location. We are sure there will be a high level of interest from those seeking a lifestyle change.”
