Tourism boost to Belfast as new 17-bed boutique is given the green light

The city council in Belfast has given planning permission for a new 17-bedroom boutique hotel to be built.

The proposal will see a new hotel created inside the Mourne Seafood Bar and Kelly’s Cellars and will be four-stories high.

Alongside the 17 bedrooms, a new ground-floor restaurant will also be part of the project.

The planning application was submitted by Belfast-based Cedarr Properties and it is understood MM Developments is the team behind the build.

“We are pleased to see Belfast’s tourism infrastructure being further boosted as our city’s popularity as a visitor destination continues to grow,” said councillor Peter Johnston, the chairman of the planning committee.
