Manchester’s newest five-star boutique has taken an online slating after TOWIE star Mario Falcone took to Twitter to voice his disappointment after a stay at the recently launched Hotel Gotham.
The hotel, which opened in April after much anticipation, welcomed the reality TV star and his girlfriend this week, but failed to impress after Falcone tweeted: ‘Very disappointed with my stay @HotelGotham last night. One of the worst hotels I have stayed in.’
However Hotel Gotham was quick to respond to rectify the problem, tweeting directly to Falcone just an hour after the initial comment was posted.
The hotel said: ‘Could you DM [direct message] us as our Managing Director would like to address your comment. Many thanks.’
Part of Bespoke Hotels, Hotel Gotham in Manchester takes its home at 100 King Street in a listed buiding in the city centre and since its launch last month has so far had rave reviews on a number of booking sites.
Customers on Booking.com have rated the hotel a 9.4, while TripAdvisor has Hotel Gotham ranked as four-and-a-half out of five from 87 reviews, and listed it as the 17th best hotel in Manchester out of 117.
Fifty-five customers rated it as ‘excellent’ with no-one so far putting the hotel into the ‘terrible’ category.
The Telegraph’s review of the property also gave the new boutique an 8 out of 10 score.
Jeff Ward, managing director of the Gotham Hotel, told MailOnline Travel: “We are sorry to hear Mr Falcone did not enjoy his stay, we had no complaints from him at the time.
“We have asked him to contact us so we can discuss his comments but have not heard from him.”
